I get a lot of questions from clients and friends on what do about skin that is oily and acne prone. Here are some tips that can help control and minimize the oil and acne on your face.
1.First thing is that you may have to wash your face more frequently to reduce the oily build up on your skin
2. Products with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids are good! These acids can help unplug clogged pores because they work with your body’s chemistry. These acids are good for oily skin because of its anti-inflammatory agents that help slow excessive oil production. Try using cleansers, toners, wipes, moisturizers, or peels that contain Alpha or Beta hydroxy acids. With regular application your skin will look fresher, brighter and healthier. Just remember skin may be sensitive when using products with these acids, be sure to use sunscreen.
3.Remember that “oil-free” doesn’t mean it’s right for you. Look for these key words when buying products… “non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores) or nonacnegenic (doesn’t stimulate acne). And those of you who love cocoa butter please don’t use it on your face. It only contributes to acne.
